With summer in full swing there is no better time to start introducing exercise into your lifestyle. Exercise will not only help you remain fit and health, it will also give you more energy and improve your mood! WIN WIN.
When you want to introduce exercise into your lifestyle its important to acknowledge a change in lifestyle is needed! Everyone has a routine so the hardest part is changing your routine to facilitate exercise.
You aren’t going to become an athlete overnight, but making small changes will soon add up.
REMEBER – You don’t need to push yourself to the limit straight away! Start with lower intensity exercise then build it up.
If you have joined a gym, start by just familiarising yourself with the equipment and facilities.
Follow a simple routine of completing 12 repetitions on each exercise 3 times with a 60 second rest in-between sets.
Start by running down the street, counting 10 lamp posts then walking then running again. This way you will be able to monitor your progress. The following week run for 11 lamp posts then walk for 9 etc, you get the idea :)
For the first few weeks don’t train more than 3 times a week! you may be eager and this is great, however you will soon become fatigued and this will prevent you from continuing to exercise constantly.
